Spain | The Spanish oil company Repsol has extended the existing supply agreement with Messer by 15 years. Messer has been supplying oxygen and nitrogen to Repsol’s refinery in the Tarragona petrochemical complex via pipeline already since 1975. Repsol manufactures a large number of products from crude oil, whereby nitrogen is essential for ensuring the safe operation of the production facilities. Messer is currently building a fifth air separation unit at this site in order to cover the increasing demand for gases on the part of the customers there. The contract extension with Repsol confirms a longstanding partnership in which Messer has demonstrated extreme flexibility and high supply reliability for nearly five decades.
