New CO₂ plant in Paraná

Brazil | In March, Messer started up a new carbon dioxide recovery unit in Jandaia do Sul, Paraná. Generated when producing ethanol from corn and sugar cane, the CO₂ will be delivered to the customers in southern, southwestern and midwestern Brazil. Consumers include the food and protein industries, beverage manufacturers, chemical companies, the healthcare sector, as well as

metal processing and welding operations. “In strategic terms, the new location is highly advantageous, with good access to cities such as São Paulo and Curitiba as well as to the ports of Santos and Paranaguá,” explains Scott Latta, General Manager, Messer Brazil. “With our continuous production and the good access, we can guarantee reliable CO₂ supply throughout a large region.”
