Slovenia | In Friško’s greenhouses in Velika Polana, carbon dioxide from Messer is helping tomatoes grow better. The horticultural business recently erected a new 2.1-hectare greenhouse. For its CO₂ supply, Messer installed a dedicated storage tank.
By raising the natural share of the gas there from 350 ppm to between 600 and 700 ppm (ppm = parts per million), the artificial CO₂ supply will promote growth and enhance the quality of the plants. Some 700 metric tons per year of small tomatoes will ripen in the greenhouse.
