PEOPLE FOCUS

Juan Guauque

Juan Guauque has been working for Messer since 2009 and is Sales Director for Manufactured Packaged Gases of Messer in Colombia.

What was your best “gases experience”? We supply medical gases to 60 percent of the hospitals in Colombia. During the Covid pandemic, we assured their supply of oxygen. Making that happen was a highly rewarding experience, and I'm very proud of the outstanding performance of our team. When visiting your country, what should people be absolutely sure not to miss? Our country is very diverse, with many beautiful places – from endless white beaches like El Cabo de la Vela in La Guajira to the rain forest in the Amazon region. In between, there are modern metropolises like Medellín, and you’ll be surprised by how friendly the people are everywhere. What three things would you miss the least? Negative energy, injustice and disease. Which famous person would you like to spend an evening with? I really would have liked to meet the Spanish painter Salvador Dalí. He had to overcome many setbacks, embodied a perfect blend of genius and insanity, and was always controversial. I love his work and his legacy. What would you still like to learn in your life? I would like to learn Portuguese and be able to play the accordion well.
