H₂ bus developed with the support of Messer

Slovakia | Messer helped Mobility & Innovation Production (M&IP), a Slovakian start-up, develop a hydrogen-powered, medium-size, 68-passenger city bus. The vehicle is a modified version of an electric bus also manufactured by M&IP. Most of the batteries have been replaced by hydrogen tanks and a fuel cell that produces the electricity to drive the motor.

One battery remains for energy recovery, thereby extending the range. The chassis is made of lightweight fiber-reinforced composite and the bus can travel 100 kilometers on just 3.2 kilograms of hydrogen. It is already approved for transporting passengers in the EU. Messer supplied M&IP with the hydrogen used to test the components and helped flush out the hydrogen lines.
