“We have to adjust to the fact that the pandemic will have a considerable and lasting impact on life and work as we know it.”

Owner and CEO Messer Group GmbH

Dear Readers of Gases for Life,

The emergency measures introduced in response to the coronavirus pandemic have become part of everyday life in many countries. It is becoming increasingly clear that we will continue to have to make adjustments to our lives in the coming months in order to effectively contain the spread of the virus. Business, however, will – and must – get going again as a matter of priority, albeit under completely different circumstances. We have to learn to live with the virus and adjust to the fact that the pandemic will have a considerable and lasting impact on life and work as we know it. As a family concern, we want to do everything to ensure maximum stability and safety in this situation. Health protection in the workplace and our customers’ safety when handling and using our products are the top priority.

There is also good news: our companies in Europe, Asia and the Americas have been fully able to meet the increased demand for medical gases – from both existing and new customers. We have supplied liquid oxygen to the pandemic hospitals set up in many cities around the world, with some of them even housed in exhibition centers, sports venues or airport buildings. For the most part, existing capacities have been sufficient to meet medical care requirements. Loyalty and solidarity will guide us through the coronavirus crisis, whether in the family, among friends or in the workplace. It is also the time to review and further improve existing processes. Our persistent pursuit of excellence is an important element of our shared future success. Stay healthy! Best wishes
