Hungary I Every twelfth baby is born prematurely or with a low birth weight. Even with the most careful assistance, these babies are not always born in places where modern, specialized intensive care is available to them. In such cases, they have to be moved to an appropriate facility as quickly and safely as possible. Founded in 1988, the Peter Cerny Foundation’s mission is to provide a rescue, transportation, intensive care, and rehabilitation service for premature babies. It operates a neonatal emergency and transport service within a 140-kilometer radius around Budapest. Messer supplies the medical gases that are used to provide artificial respiration to the infants and to adjust the incubator atmosphere.
